Introduction to the Institutes

Calvin’s lifetime work was the “Institutes of the Christian Religion” first published in 1536, and revised and updated numerous times until just a few years before his death in 1563. The Institutes are an all-encompassing summary of Calvin’s theology — and in this class, I’ll introduce the Institutes by giving a brief history and overview of the themes and history of the Institutes.
